Mykonos fame lies on its beaches, as it is not particularly a green island. The best of them are on the south coast of the island. Things to Do in Mykonos

This was the original Petros. And the current Petros, probably, is some descendant who likes to be the center of all eyes and perpetuate tradition.

Perpendicular to the pier is **Matogianni Street**, the main commercial artery, where jewelers, boutiques, cafes, and pastry shops follow one another. A stop along the way: Try the island's traditional almond cookies. Although this specialty is offered by almost all patisseries, the best ones are found in Skarapoulos (on MatoStreet Street); Nikolaos Skarapoulos started the family business in 1921.

At the end of this street, if you turn right towards Enoplon Dynameon, you will soon see the charming Aegean Maritime Museum. Also, if you continue west on this same street, turning Mitropoleos Georgouli continue a few blocks towards the port. Many of the early ship captains built beautiful houses with wooden balconies right here on the seafront. Little Venice is the name given today to this neighborhood located in the extreme southwest of the port. A few of these distinguished houses have been converted into elegant bars where a romantic atmosphere reigns at twilight.

In the distance, on the other side of the waters, lined up like lead soldiers on the high hill, the famous windmills of Mykonos are outlined, an echo of a time when the energy of the wind was used to grind the grain of the island.

According to the locals, the most famous of the many churches that inhabit Mykonos is the Paraportiani (outside the walls), which is on Ayion Anargyron Street, near the FoMuseum museum.

In contrast, in the inland town of **Ano Mera**, 7.5 km to the east, islanders live oblivious of tourism. Its main attraction is Panagia i Tourlani, from the 16th century, dedicated to the protector of the island. Founded by two monks from Paros, the monastery, with its red dome, was restored in 1767. The ornate marble tower was sculpted by artisans from Tinos. Inside there are beautiful 16th-century icons, chasub, less, and embroidery. To the northwest of the town stands the Palaiokastro hill, once crowned by a Venetian castle, which was believed to be the site of one of the ancient cities of Mykonos, but what you see today is Moni Palaiokastrou, from the 17th century. To the northwest, in the pretty village of Marathi, is Moni Agiou Panteleimona, founded in 1665; from here, the road continues to the bay of **Panormos and Ftelia**, a paradise for windsurfers.

What type of ferry tickets are included in your packages to the Greek islands?

Tourist, Hotel or room taxes are taxes charged by the government or the municipalities and collected by the hotels directly from the guests during check-in. It is important not to forget about these when calculating your travel expenses as, whether we like it or not, they represent a compulsory add-on to the total cost of your trip. These taxes are not collected by Greca Travel, and depend generally on the hotel category, city and total number of nights.

What are the Tourist City Taxes?

Most countries do not require a visa for stays of less than 90 calendar days. We recommend that you contact the Greek Embassy in your country of origin, in order to be informed about all the up-to-date requirements, if any. If you are planning to purchase a cruise package, it is important that you establish the countries it goes to, and if you need to obtain what is called a double-entry visa (necessary when leaving and re-entering a country).

Do I need a visa to travel to Greece?

No. We at Greca Travel offer you services that do not require a minimum number of participants at these package prices. Any package or tour seen on our website has a guaranteed departure covered by our Guaranteed Package and Tour policy.

Is there a minimum number of passengers for the packages to take place?

Once you have completed the booking process, you will be able to choose between two payment methods: Wire transfer or card payment. Payments by Visa or Mastercard do not entail an interest, but payments by American Express carry an interest of 3%.

What hotels are included in the tours and packages?

International flight tickets from your city and back are not included in our packages, as we cannot guarantee the best rates on airline tickets. All passengers should book their own flights and are highly recommended to do so in advance to benefit from the best available prices.

Do packages include flight tickets?

Greca guarantees the best prices on all its products! With this assurance, you can now concentrate on what is important - your holidays! However, if you find a better price, do contact us in any way you choose and make sure that you include the link of the product itself. This is essential during investigation conducted for the benefit of our customers. Please bear in mind that in most cases, the price difference may arise from services, such as entrance fees to archeological sites, food, transport, etc.
