In Oros Areos, a wall of rectangular limestone blocks (_pores_ in Greek) is erected. It is decorated with seven monolithic columns in the Corinthian style, with a smooth shaft of veined marble, a height of 8.60 meters, and an isolated column, the shaft of which is grooved. 
These are the most important remains of the magnificent library erected by the emperor Hadrian in approximately 132 and discovered in 1885.
After being replaced by the church of **Megalia Panagia**, the library was forgotten until, in 1885, after a fire that damaged part of the Christian temple, excavation began in which some limestone blocks and several Corinthian columns over eight meters high were found, in addition to the remains of the foundations of the 5th-century church.

### Roman agora in Athens

In 1687, the Turks destroyed the original temple, so the building that can be seen is a reconstruction carried out during the 19th century by reusing the material from the original temple.

### Parthenon

It stands at the highest point of the Acropolis. **The Parthenon** is a masterpiece of architecture conceived by Pericles and executed between 447 and 438 B.C. by the brilliant sculptor Phidias, who supervised the architects Ictinos and Clicrates in their construction.
Although dedicated to the goddess Athens (the name Parthenon derives from _Athena Parthenos_, or Virgin Athena) and inaugurated at the Panathenaic Festival in 438 B.C., the Parthenon was above all the treasure of the Delos League.

What type of ferry tickets are included in your packages to the Greek islands?

Tourist, Hotel or room taxes are taxes charged by the government or the municipalities and collected by the hotels directly from the guests during check-in. What are the Tourist City Taxes?

Most countries do not require a visa for stays of less than 90 calendar days. We recommend that you contact the Greek Embassy in your country of origin, in order to be informed about all the up-to-date requirements, if any. If you are planning to purchase a cruise package, it is important that you establish the countries it goes to, and if you need to obtain what is called a double-entry visa (necessary when leaving and re-entering a country).

Do I need a visa to travel to Greece?

What hotels are included in the tours and packages?

International flight tickets from your city and back are not included in our packages, as we cannot guarantee the best rates on airline tickets. All passengers should book their own flights and are highly recommended to do so in advance to benefit from the best available prices.

Do packages include flight tickets?

Greca guarantees the best prices on all its products! With this assurance, you can now concentrate on what is important - your holidays! However, if you find a better price, do contact us in any way you choose and make sure that you include the link of the product itself. This is essential during investigation conducted for the benefit of our customers. Please bear in mind that in most cases, the price difference may arise from services, such as entrance fees to archeological sites, food, transport, etc.
