PRIVATE WINE TASTING IN SANTORINI

Discover the most distinct wineries and cellars of Santorini through a unique wine tasting journey. Santorini is well known in Greece and all over the world for its long wine-making tradition and unique grape varieties.

More than half of the island is strewn with vineyards, a fact which is obvious at first sight. Its volcanic soil and unique climate give them a special flavor, making wine production the second largest economy of the island.

Your Wine Adventure Tour specializes in the wine and food culture of Santorini. Your private driver/local guide will escort you to three different types of wineries, ensuring that you have the most personalized experience.

Your first visit will be at the contemporary winery of Estate Argyros. The estate Argyros is surrounded by 42 acres of vines, including some of the oldest vines on the island, which are over 150 years old. Wine tasting includes five varieties of outstanding boutique wines based only on the indigenous varieties of Santorini, such as Assyrtiko, Aidani & Mavrotragano. 

Your wine adventure will continue to the more private and less commercial location: a unique Art Center within the pumice rock - carved chambers of an old winery. In this old winery dating back to 1861, representative works of art are on display. Although Art Space Winery is small, their commitment is to "quality" over ‘quantity'. You will have the opportunity to taste four glasses of amazing real “local” wine, view the operation of a Santorini organic farm and come close to the contemporary Greek art at the same time.

Your tour will end at one of the oldest wineries of Santorini built in 1947, Venetsanos winery.  You will learn about quality, enology and flavor alchemy. This family has a very long tradition in producing wine and became the first industrial winery on the island. Savor three different wine varieties (Nykteri, Anagalis & Mandilaria) along with tasty snacks, overlooking the magnificent caldera.

Greca Tip: At the Art Space Museum check the old distilling equipment, the basins used for grape treading but also the tomato paste processing plant.
