NOVI SAD & KARLOVCI FROM BELGRADE

On this tour, we will explore the northern region of Serbia, a wonderful land that showcases the diversity of this country.

Our excursion will begin after hotel pickup as we head north, enjoying the vast and colorful plains of the Vojvodina region. Along the way, we will notice an island that "disrupts" the simple horizon and the flat terrain—this is the Fruška Gora mountain, home to 17 religious gems of the Serbian Orthodox Church. Our guide will introduce us to one of these hidden treasures, captivating us with its peaceful atmosphere and the legacy of the Branković family, who were the most important benefactors during Serbia’s difficult times under Turkish siege.

After this tranquil start, we will be ready for the most dynamic part of the tour. We will be welcomed by the small and charming town of Sremski Karlovci, whose atmosphere reflects the rich history of the region. Its well-educated citizens and unofficial mascot, Raša, add to its charm. The Patriarchate Palace, St. Nicholas Church, and the first Serbian high school established in 1791 justify its title as a "museum town." One of the highlights of Karlovci is undoubtedly its wine production, so you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional winery and taste a local variety.

We will then continue to the picturesque center of Novi Sad, where we will immediately notice that this city is a melting pot of different nations and ethnic groups, offering a truly multicultural atmosphere. Vibrant facades with distinctive windows, a cannonball embedded in a wall as a historical remnant, street musicians on every corner, charming landscapes, and a long list of noteworthy landmarks will make us fall in love with this European Capital of Culture for 2021.

As a special treat at the end of the tour, we will have some free time to explore the city at a leisurely pace, shop for souvenirs, or savor the flavors of local cuisine enriched with Austrian and Hungarian influences.

Afterward, we will return to our accommodation in Belgrade, fully satisfied with this unique experience.
