Every second of this tour is worth it, from meeting at Larissis station until the end of the tour. VIP treatment by Greca. Meteora is a magical place, a return to time, a dive into history. What you feel in each of the Monasteries visited is surreal, an atmosphere that takes you to the heavens.

I really enjoyed my visit to Meteora, the train was on time and comfortable and we were met by the tour guides at the station. the Monasteries were busy and we had to queue to enter. In one we were required to purchase a coverup, even though I was wearing long trousers and long sleeved shirt.

Meteora is spectacular, don't miss it, the only thing a bit complicated is going to and from the station and the train, but there are always taxis at hand and the journey is short. Arrive early and buy something to eat because the trip from Athens lasts 4 hours.

I did the 1 day Meteora by train and 1 day Delphi yours from Athens. The tours were terrific! Tours were well organized, the guides were extremely knowledgeable! Pick up and drop off times were exactly as indicated. I was extremely happy with the professionalism and response/communication!

The best of the tour: the views and the Cristina guide. The train journey takes forever, it goes slow and stops at all stations, although it is worth it when you get to Meteora.

Very happy to see Meteora. Our guide Cristina did a great job and we really enjoyed the tour. And that because of the fires that prevented going directly by train, in the end we had a 6-hour bus + train trip to go and the same to return to Athens. Still we do not regret going.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

Dress code: Appropriate clothing for everyone is required to enter the monasteries. Sleeveless clothing and shorts over the knee for men are prohibited and you‘ll be denied access if dressed that way. For ladies skirts and shawls are available to borrow or buy at the entrance of monasteries in case they don’t have such clothing to cover themselves.

Level of difficulty: Please be aware that reaching the top of the monasteries involves climbing steps. There are no elevators available, so please consider this if you have any mobility concerns.

Hotel pickup

The tour does not include pick-up and drop-off from/to your hotel in Athens, it is a service you can add optionally.

The departure is from Athens Central Train Station (Larissa Station) at 08:00 hrs. We advise arriving 30 minutes prior to departure, as the bus will leave immediately.

This is a full-day excursion (approximately. Dep. 08:00 hrs. - Ret. 22:15 hrs.)
