    Accommodation
    Excursion Itinerary: Pompeii & herculaneum from naples

    At the appointed time, we will depart from the centre of Naples for the famous ruins of the city of Pompeii, which together with Herculaneum and other neighbouring villas, were buried under the ashes of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

    There we can stroll through the streets of the ancient Roman city with its thousand-year-old houses, amphitheatres and baths. Several buildings still retain some of their original decoration, such as those adorning the Villa of the Mysteries, the House of the Faun, the House of the Tragic Poet and the Villa of Diomedes, among others.

    After Pompeii, we will go to the discovery of another UNESCO archaeological site: Herculaneum, so that we can see the main differences between these two sites. Both feature the excavated ruins of alleys and houses where you can explore freely and yet continue to unearth the remains of a place locked in time today.

    We will then drive up to Mount Vesuvius, up to 1000 metres altitude. Once there, we will enjoy the view of the Bay of Naples and our lunch.

    Greca Tip: The mineral-rich volcanic soil of this area provides ideal conditions for the cultivation of vines, producing wines with unique and distinctive characteristics.
