Medjugorje is a small village 25 km from Mostar, very close to the Croatian border, surrounded by two hills. Its name in Croatian means "Between mountains." The village became famous due to the testimony of six children who claim that the Virgin Mary has been appearing to them since 1981. Since then, it has become a pilgrimage site for believers and curious visitors.
